of newspaper-style columns.
Titles for the chapters (or ÒcolumnsÓ) include:
George Patton, Sunday School teacher;
Imagine Jesus as a teenager;
An alternate view of Jesus feeding the 5,000;
and The movie ÒTitanicÓ and suspending disbelief.
These columns include end-notes, which give the facts that support the writerÕs contentions.
For example, this is from one end-note:
[T]he lesson Jesus wanted to get across may have been that if we stopped being so Ònormally greedy,Ó we could solve the hunger problem ourselves. We wouldnÕt have to rely on Òdivine intervention.Ó But in the end, maybe itÕs more comforting and comfortable to believe that itÕs GodÕs responsibility, and He just hasnÕt done anything about it yet.
