This TRUE STORY is about when a European civilization encounters an advanced African civilization (the Kongo Kingdom)for the FIRST TIME; for ten years all goes well because both groups respect and value each other. The leading character, King Alfonso, becomes an active participant in both cultures, ready to become Òa hero, an African ConstantineÓ, but 1492 changes it all; the Portuguese become SLAVE TRADERS to supply new American plantations with labor. A group, the BLOOD GHOSTS, oppose Alfonso, hoping to end Catholicism and restore the traditional worship of ancestors. They kill several characters in a grisly way.
