191 Choose a Key Hymns for Beginning Cello offers a range of hymns from the public domain. All are presented in multiple major keys to meet the maturing skill level of beginners. Every hymn appears in C. Most also appear in F and G. Occasionally, hymns appear in D, A, or B Flat. A few of the hymns require extensions in some of the keys. A very few require shifts, in at least one key.
The hymns span the centuries from Gregorian Chant derivatives to the end of the public domain in the early 20th century.
Though words are not included, titles, slurs, and other phrasing are from common lyrics.
