The Printmaking Project has become an annual Spring rite of the art students at Ithaca High School. In partnership with The Ink Shop Printmaking Center, this project reflects the ICSD emphasis on rigor, relevance and relationship. Printmakers Pam Drix and Caleb Thomas visited our IHS art room, sharing their portfolio work and careers as printmakers, artists and teachers. They also demonstrated printmaking techniques that the students used during their visit to the studio. The culmination of the project was a full day workshop at The Ink Shop, where the students developed their own prints using Xerox transfer, stencils and monoprinting techniques, and experienced the resources and facility of a professional printmaking studio.
