After people had celebrated the New Millennium, the members of John's Children, along with a couple of additions were involved in a trio of gigs during the spring in the UK and Europe as Jet. The set, though, included songs by JC and other family tree related bands.
Later in the year and in 2001, JC invaded Europe like never before, taking their orgasmic sound to Italy, Germany and Spain. This was as well entertaining various crowds in London until December 2002.
The live scene took a back seat for few years, but Andy kept up appearances with a cluster of gigs either solo or with Boz Boorer or Chris Townson and this continued through the decade.
In 2006, original bassist John Hewlett was back in the ranks and was joined by guitarist Trevor White. The new line-up recorded ÔCome On England (Our English Sons)Õ for the World Cup.
Before the end of the year, Boz was back on board and in 2007 JohnÕs Children headed north to Manchester to the Night & Day CafŽ. While in the city, a BBC 6 Music radio session was recorded. Shortly afterwards, but as a 3-piece (minus Boz) the band made a London appearance. And before the year was through, Andy was part of the Marc Bolan: The Celebration Concert 1947-1977-2007 at ShepherdÕs Bush Empire on September 15th. To tie in with the event and 30 years since MarcÕs had passed, Andy & Chris were interviewed for a BBC 4 documentary. Sadly, however, on February 10th 2008, Chris Townson passed away.
A number of albums came to fruition, but these were mainly Orgasm and compilations. A live album Music For The Heard Of Herring from the Jet tour saw the light of day in Japan and Germany during 2001. While the bandsÕ two songs from the Steve Marriott Memorial Concert in 2001 had to wait until 2005, as they appeared on One More Time For The OlÕ Tosser (one song did appear on MustnÕt Grumble in 2001).
