Maternal and child health programs are designed to promote and protect the health of the mother and the child from pregnancy to early childhood. These services are delivered within the community and address: health promotion initiatives and strategies; education services; prevention through screening, assessments, and immunization; case management and coordination of community services; treatment and care plans; referrals to health professionals.
