If you asked me, I would probably tell you I am not a fan of poetry. Blame it on the educational system, if you will. Teachers were always wanting us to come up with an interpretation of what the writer was "trying" to say. I seldom agreed with the Instructors which was not necessarily a good idea! The only poems that escaped this brutal analysis in class were ones we were required to memorize. As students, we had been required to memorize "The Road Less Travelled" by Robert Frost and it has remained a favourite of mine through the years.
It wasn't until after completing high school that it became possible to enjoy poetry simply for its own sake. That was when I rediscovered Robert Frost and his rural-themed poems. Recently, I found many of them are available in the Public Domain files online.
