ÔElepaio and P_n_wai: A Waipao Adventure is the story of how a curious forest bird, ÔElepaio, befriends a freshwater spring, P_n_wai. This talking spring explains to ÔElepaio how she and the native Hawaiian forest plants and animals are unhealthy due to many changes that happened over time. As their friendship grows, they also witness how the health of the forest, its plants and animals, and P_n_wai herself are restored when students and their families start to care for the land.
