A Child's Life is a collection of short stories about the author's experience growing up in America between World War I and World War II. Some of his stories discuss how children overcame shortages during the 1930's, and created their own play environment before television and smart phones changed the way that children play and experience life. The author describes fond memories, some of which include making homemade ice cream and root beer, the ice man, the lamplighter, the knife-sharpener, and collecting aluminum and other materials for money to go to the local theater. This book is both a biographical memoir, and a historical rendition of a child's life during the Depression.
