In this paper,Ê quasar object data from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS)Êwas used Êto create a high signal to noise composite quasar spectrum. It was found that a relatively small sample could be combined to produce a coherent composite spectra broadly representative of that produced by much larger composites.
The mean signal-to-noise ratio was 113.92. 24 emission line features were identified and an attempt made to describe the underlying continuum. It was found that the composite spectra produced compared favourably to two publishedÊ studies(Peterson 1997 andÊVanden Berk et al.Ê2001), validatingÊ the approach adopted in this study.
