A Family Storybook: Ancestors of Evelyn Bancroft is a collection of stories about all four of Evelyn's grandparents -- Claud Bancroft, Nell Ward, William Judson Farrell, and Mary Englerth. The family line of each grandparent is followed backward to the time of an ancestor's arrival in America. Some branches reach as far back as the Mayflower. Others, the Farrell and Englerth lines, chronicle more recent arrivals. Tales of the Colonial Period, the Revolution, and the Civil War are included. Stories are told of family members' struggles during the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. The book ends with the birth of Evelyn Mary Bancroft, second daughter of George and Mercedes Farrell Bancroft, in April 1933.
