This is a summary of my 30-year journey through the military, from Naval aviator cadet to Marine colonel, from scout bomber pilot in the Pacific theatre in World War II to fighter/attack pilot in the Korean War -- and my life afterward in the Reserves. It also covers people I met and the 17 aircraft I flew along the way.
