What would you do if a bomb exploded outside your house and you realized that your husband was targeted in a brutal ethnic cleansing? This was not just any war in which one mother found herself. It was a very personal war targeting her husband and his family. It was a war that was about to rip apart her life and for Davorka it became her war. In America we take a lot for granted in our lives. We live from one day to the next knowing that the sun will rise in the morning and the moon will stand watch over us at night, and everything, for the most part, will be OK. Our Bosnian Herzegovina family believed that also, for a time, before everything in their life changed. Suddenly they lived precariously between hoping to hang on and hanging on to hope. This story documents one motherÕs fight, then flight, for freedom from war. It follows her struggles to keep her family together and to provide her children with a hopeful future.
