What began as a exploration of the language of my studio and the dilemmas
in my practice, has become a somewhat indexical envoy. The book
is composed of poems, personal anecdotes, quotations, short essays, lists,
footnotes, and visual references. The order of the text is so to help draw
connections and through-lines, which result in a distinct feeling of the piece
as a whole (or hole).
Though there are multiple streams continuously running through my
work, ultimately, it comes down to a single struggle: The struggle to keep
the loop open between what we know and what we search to know, between
fantasy and reality, the ground and everything beyond.
