Forsaken by the world that has done nothing but beat him down, Carl finds himself on an island, unprepared and hopelessly alone. Stalked by an unseen being and fought mercilessly by the islandÕs vast array of natural weaponry, Carl struggles to survive and recalls troubling memories from his life in Manhattan. Life without certainty quickly becomes a living Hell for Carl, and as his calls for help repeatedly go unanswered, he becomes more and more desperate. But in the midst of his near starvation and psychological turmoil, Carl finds something that may change his view of the island forever.
