Ajit Singh, a Zanzibar architect who also was a painter, a man of the arts, whose signature is on many an edifice in Zanzibar, remains fairly unknown, little mentioned. Not even a street or building has officially been dedicated to his name. This book is a humble effort to make up for the lack of appreciation, a complimentary summary perhaps, to fill the information gap on his life and legacy. Hopefully it would spotlight his great dedication to and love for his adopted country Zanzibar. - Issak Esmail Issak
