Bettye Jean Montgomery married Lt. (j.g.) Burton Henderson on June 29, 1954. This book chronicles the story of the Montgomery family. It tells who they were, where and how they lived, and in many instances, the social and political environment that helped to shape their lives.
Many were pioneers and patriots who worked and fought for their country to help secure a good life for their families.
This is their story, as best it can be discovered. Documents never tell the full extent of the events or of the joys and heartbreak that accompanies them. Still, it can give us a glimpse into their lives; and generate a deep appreciation for who they were.
