The UK used to be country built on coal and heavy industry. Over the last couple of decades these have largely disappeared leaving entire communities without a focal point.
After the Coal Dust is a series of photographs by John and Bridget Gill offering a dispassionate look at the people left behind.
All the images were taken candidly on the streets of Northern Britain.
