The USAAF arrived in Britain in 1942 and remained there until 1945. During their tenure the units of the 8th AAF operated a range of aircraft including the Spitfire, Boeing B-17, Consolidated B-24, Lockheed P-38 and the Republic P-47 all of which are heavily illustrated within the covers. The layout is centred around individual combat groups there being entries for all known units.
