She was F__ima, the mother of D_w_d, a great grandson of the 2nd Im_m, _asan al-Mujtab_ (a) and a foster brother of the 6th Im_m, Ja_far a_-__diq (a). Umm D_w_d had served as a wet nurse to Im_m a_-__diq (a).
Once, the 6th Im_m (a) was ill so F__ima (Umm D_w_d) went to visit him. During her visit the Im_m inquired about his [foster] brother D_w_d. F__ima replied that she had lost hope in finding him, for she did not even know whether he was alive or dead. The Imam taught her an _Amal (a combination of Qur__nic recitations, supplications and prayers) that was very effective in getting a quick outcome of oneÕs legal needs.
