American Burger exemplifies Adolfo Doring's photographic style. This book illustrates his use of his single lens theory, along with additional requirements he liked his photographs to have: No image is set up, influenced by external elements such as a film set or fashion shoot, and no subject could be someone he knew. If they make eye contact, as in the title image, it is just as the shutter was pressed. Doring aimed to be there and not there simultaneously. Taken from the beginning of the 1990s to 2009, this collection spans years and locations.
