A friend of Adjunct Professor Reginald Meeks witnesses the professor's decline into crack addiction and despair.
Reginald wants to be a good Adjunct Professor, but to supplement his income he works at his father's restaurant. It's a job he abhors.
He falls for a white woman at the university, while his father, who wants him to marry within his own race and culture, matches him with a young woman who is also
a closeted drug addict.
Once the relationship between him and the white college student falls apart, Reginald is forced to live with the woman his father chose for him, thereby thrusting him into near-immediate addiction.
