For over 15 years an Educational Philosophies Reader has served as a custom course packet in a 2-credit introductory Values and Ethics course taught to both undergraduate and graduate students at Metropolitan College of New York (MCNY). The reader includes short, accessible, and provocative selections from the works of Plato, Locke, Rousseau, Mann, Washington, Du Bois, Dewey, and Freire. It has been used by a wide range of instructors to stimulate reflective writing and lively classroom debate.
