An Introduction to Psychology is an open (OER) textbook that started with Charles Stangor's text from FlatWorldKnowledge. The brain chapter is significantly different from most introductory psychology textbooks - it is organized around pathways (attention, memory, emotion, etc.). A chapter of prejudice includes discussion of real-world dynamics, both current and historical. Psychological disorders are broken into two chapters. Each is paired with parts of the motivation, stress, and emotion chapters of traditional textbooks. This puts disordered stress responses next to common and healthy responses. Mood disorders are paired with common emotional processing and models of emotional regulation and attachment. There are many original diagrams to illustrates concepts.
