William "Liam" Thomas Brennan (1944-2020) was born and raised on Donore Road in the Liberties, a historic neighbourhood of Dublin. Like many of his generation, after one year of secondary education, Liam entered the world of work. He married in 1968 and settled in Dolphins House, Rialto. Liam joined the Electricity Supply Board (ESB) in the early 1970s, initially as a general labourer, and eventually became a staff driver. He chauffeured the E.S.B.'s Managing Director, various politicians, former Taoiseachs, and visiting foreign dignitaries around Ireland. In 1980, Liam and his wife moved their family to one of the first council housing estates in the growing suburb of Tallaght, in County Dublin.
