The writings included in this book were written by participants in the Northern Nevada Veterans Writing Project. The project is free to participants and are open to service members, veterans and their families as well as Gold Star families.
The Northern Nevada Veterans Writing Project seeks to generate art and literary works as a means of explaining war and military experiences, to record and share history, and to enhance reintegration, resiliency, recovery and improved quality of life.
The Northern Nevada Veterans Writing Project is brought to veterans and their families by the David J Drakulich Art Foundation: For Freedom of Expression. Hosted by the alumni of past Northern Nevada Veterans Writing Projects and Workshops, the projectÕs collaborators include the Reno Little Theater, Reno Arts and Culture Commission, TMCC Veterans Upward Bound, Washoe County Library System and the Reno Vet Center.
