This edition carries details of the 2023 season, a year which included a great World Championships in Budapest and phenomenal world records in several events. After the passing of long-term editor Peter Matthews in 2023, the 2024 Annual is edited by Richard Hymans and Stuart Mazdon, assisted by members of the Association of Track & Field Statisticians. Contents are slightly different to previous years, with much deeper all-time lists:
