In the early 1880's Lewis Barney wrote to a Salt Lake City Publisher requesting that a three hundred page memoir that he had written be published. He wanted the manuscript to tell of his life experiences as a Mormon and as counsel "for the young and rising generation". This book is meant to satisfy his desires.
