This booklet presents a review of basic concepts pertinent to educational and psychological testing, measurement, and assessment. Intended as preliminary material for a graduate level course in psychological testing, the booklet describes content in 3 major areas: (a) foundational concepts such as reliability and validity, (b) types of psychological measurements (e.g., self-reports, observational strategies, qualitative assessments), and (c) test components (i.e., elements of test construction, administration, scoring, and interpretation).
