An account of a boy growing up in the small town of Tillsonburg in the 1940's and 50's. This is his view of the town and his life in it. It is a portrait of the way things were at the end of WW2 and the fast changing decade afterward. John's stories of growing up are combined with an imaginary tour of the town where the location creates recall of something at the location.

For anyone wanting a behind the scenes glimpse of the culture of the era, or who is interested in Tillsonburg or Ontario small towns these little random stories will be a pleasure to read and perhaps awaken memories of or a new interest in life over half a century ago.

It was a time of transition not only from the war but from the remnants of the first half of the 20th century when things familar then were ending.

We all grow up, some of us in small towns where we had freedom and opportunities that parent's of today would find unusual. These were some of John's stories as he grew from Jackie to Jack to John.
