Bertie County, NC Ð is another eastern (and very old) county containing a great collection of Colonial records. This book contains images of each document, and a short transcript in order to index and catalog each record. These original records are in the State Archives (Raleigh) and each document is not cataloged (other than year-range era). THIS County also has a great collection of very old Ferry Petitions, and some Wharf records as well. Lastly, the county has a number of mill pond plats (see the front and back cover for examples) which are rare, but these records are very old too. Bertie Road and Bridge records are provided in a separate book.
