Binderby
The story begins with Binderby (Bin) sitting on the verandah of his country home, remembering the loves gone by and the memories of family and friends. Bin had a mate, Skid, who lived on the property next door. They did everything together.
Bins lifelong friend Skid becomes ill and he moves in with Bin and Marjorie. As Skid dies down on the riverbank Bin goes downhill and realizes he will soon make the final journey like Skid has done.
