The Zero Issue & Storybook
In 2007, a college instructor set out on a solo mission to create something called "The Open Age of Comics". His goal was to create a new movement in comics that was less about creating comics and more about bringing undiscovered comic creators together in one city toward a free publication given to readers in a local market. Gaining a rag-tag team of 12 and a brazen partner, the leadership formed what would become "The Blueprint Saints".
It took 2 years of direct recruiting to find the goal of 124 comic creators and visual artists along with another 40 writers for the writing team. As promised, this ad-free book is published at the cost to manufacture and the publishers receive no monies. This 192 page book contains both the single issue created along with the larger storybook.
