Along with Todd Moore, he co-founded the Outlaw Poetry Movement. His poems and essays are featured in Poetry Is Dangerous: The Poet Is An Outlaw from Floating Island Publications. He was the winner of the Jack Kerouac Award for his book of poems, Pueblo Blues, from Cherry Valley Editions. Other awards include an NEA in poetry and the Thomas Hornsby Ferril Poetry Prize. His 2011 publication, Born To Be Blue, LUMMOX Press, was a finalist for the 2012 Colorado Book Award. His newest book of poems, All Blues, is available now from Epic Rites Press.
