This rare Prohibition Era cocktail recipe book, originally die-cut in the shape of a cocktail shaker, was published in the U.S. in 1928, at the height of the Prohibition Era, flaunting the ban on alcohol with cocktail recipes by famous silent film stars, vaudeville performers and musicians, including W. C. Fields, Fanny Brice, Florenz Ziegfield, Ted Lewis, and George Gershwin.

In addition to twenty-eight celebrity cocktail recipes, the book contains a page of "Antidotes and Pick-me-ups", "Helpful Hints" for making cocktails, "Rules of the International Bar Flies," "The Amalgamated Order of Beer Shifters," and "The Code of the Bar Flies."

This reprint edition also includes brief biographies of each celebrity, a brief history of cocktails, a biography of the publisher George Buzza, and a chapter on dance during the prohibition era.

Please note that the reprint edition is rectangular, rather than cocktail-shaker-shaped like the original.
