Bound for GardinerÕs Island, a play with music, is based on the true adventure of children growing up in the fishing hamlet of Springs, East Hampton, New York in the early 1900s. The children venture forth on a small boat to find Captain KiddÕs treasure, buried on GardinerÕs Island in 1699. Meet Hunter, a ten-year-old boy, who comes from a long line of fishermen. Every day is a Òfine day for fishinÕÓ for him and his trusty dog Coastal, a yellow lab. Nell just wants to leave Springs and get rich. She thinks her only chance to escape her life is to convince her friends to sail over to GardinerÕs Island across the bay and find the treasure that legendary Captain Kidd buried there years ago under the Òbiggest tree.Ó If only they could find it! Of course the kids donÕt bargain on stormy weather, a little sister, and a ÒbossyÓ general.
