IÕm writing this book to share my story about my experiences as a boy father. Let me explain what a boy father means. I grew up without a father. He died while I was a young child. I missed having a mentor, a man who could have been my best friend and a strong male figure to guide me through life. I would have learned so much. I missed out on seeing him at the tournament stands cheering me as I played or dropping me off to schoolÉand maybe having him teach me how to cut grass in the backyard.
More importantly, I wanted to see my mother happy, holding his hand on Sunday mornings as we went to church. So I write to help those who do not know or understand how it feels to not have a dad. I write for those who want to know what I had to become when my dad was not in my life. A boy father is a boy child forced to grow up in the mind and assume the roles and responsibilities of a father before he becomes of age.
