This 700-page book is an exhaustive family history of an early southern Missouri settler, Thomas S. Brown. He traveled from Brown County, Indiana, to Bryant Creek Valley in Douglas County, Missouri, in the 1840s. The book includes hundreds of old historical photos for his family and the Bryant Creek area, and was written by old Tom Brown's great-grandson, Logan Brown and Logan's wife, Cinita, now both in their 80s. Before retiring, Logan was a long-time carpenter and Douglas County Coroner. Cinita is a retired elementary school teacher and is one of the most knowledgeable historians of the southern Missouri area. As well, she is a master storyteller who has delighted many groups of adults and schoolchildren through the years with her graphic presentations. In the book, many old stories told by Logan's ancestors are included.
