Allen Shay graduated from Davidson College in 1976 with an English degree and absolutely no idea what he was going to do with his life. He followed his fiancŽ to Baltimore, Maryland and in September of that year he took a job selling calculators to businesses in the Baltimore area. This job was straight commission, with no salary, no benefits, and no reimbursement for expenses.
Over the next forty five years Allen would go on to become a successful and sometimes not so successful business development executive, intrapreneur, and entrepreneur. Along the way he would end up founding four tech companies, and at one point serve as President of a five hundred million dollar subsidiary of a Fortune 500 company.
