Mr Doble, a teacher at Park View Primary, is a daydreamer. He often finds himself considering why his pupils behave as they do. Simon's a bad loser, Louise is a bully and Basil is painfully shy. Mr Doble ponders these and other irritating traits in the children he teaches. He wonders what it would be like to be a fly on the wall in their homesÉÉ. and suddenly that's exactly what he is. He is able to observe the pupilsÕ home life which gives him an insight into some of the causes of their behaviour at school. The book reaches its climax when he visits one of his star pupils and sees a very different side to her!
