Frank received his unusual mission call in May of 1908 to travel to the Sandwich Islands, later known as the Hawaiian Islands. Frank was the son of a common, ordinary family, raised in a remote community in Southeastern Idaho. Because of Frank's loving and accepting manner, he touched the lives of many islanders, in ways that no other white man could.
