Camden was formed in 1777, from the northeast section of Pasquotank County. Despite the age, the older records were not preserved. In fact, only one folder of these records remain, filed in the miscellaneous county record box. However, prior to the formation, the older records can be researched via Pasquotank, which has a very nice collection of road, bridge, mill, and ferry records.
