Cascadia is fun to play and has been well received by audiences everywhere. This piece was performed in concert many times while Joe was a member of the Cascade Percussion Players under the excellent direction of Mike Faris. This score is a mallet quartet using marimbas and vibraphone and is a wonderful work for high school and college level groups. The performance opens with a serene Adagio section that lulls the listener into a meditative state until the Allegro where it Òkicks into high gearÓ clear through to a surprise ending.
JoeÕs compositions has value as a technical exercise, as significant material for recitals and competitions and is a satisfying experience for players and listeners. Joe GargiuloÕs music has been sold throughout the world for many years, and used by National Federation of Music Clubs and branches of Music Teachers National Association for student competitions.
