Rather than trying to be comprehensive reference, the Annotated Cell & Molecular Biology (CMB) is an interactive textbook that selectively details investigative questions, methods and experiments that lead to our understanding of cell biology. This focus is nowhere more obvious than in the chapter learning objectives and in the links to the authorÕs short voice-over PowerPoint (VOP) videos on YouTube. The links are numbered and embedded nearby relevant text. The presentations include edited, optional closed captions, and are easily accessed on a computer or tablet app by clicking a play-video symbol or descriptive title, or with a QR code when using a smartphone or tablet (required for users of the print edition of CMB5). Additional links to external online resources are also numbered, and for users of the print edition, are keyed to QR codes at the end of each chapter.
Over the years this book has been adopted in high school classes and as an introductory text to general and upper-level college courses. I invite you to use the interactive features of the iText to think about:
