This is the history of one of Maryland's 'charter' Atlantic Creole families. Examination of primary source documents to establish the origin and whereabouts of several enslaved early families (Browns, Shorters, Brooks, Weems, and Carolls etc.) in the Southern Maryland region. DNA evidence also provided connecting the descendants of the early enslaved at some of Maryland's well known plantations. Cesar and Mary were born in Upper Marlboro at Darnall Chance and Pentland Hills, DNA connects them to some of Maryland's most wealthiest landowners. Separated from their parents as toddlers by the intra-state slave trade - the book presents their Carolina, and Tennessee connections and then finally settling in Jefferson Village Marengo County Alabama.
