When the risen Lord Jesus Christ was about to ascend into heaven, He gave His disciples this commission: ÒYou will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the end of the earthÓ (Acts 1:8). These words reveal the identity of every Christian: to be a witness of Christ in life and in death.
The New Testament word for witness, ______ martys, means to testify Ñ often at the cost of oneÕs life. From Stephen, the first martyr, who prayed with mercy for his killers (Acts 7:60), to countless believers throughout history, the witness of Christ has always meant both confession with our lips and testimony through our lives.
The writer of Hebrews spoke of Abel, saying: ÒBy faith Abel offered to God a better sacrifice than Cain, through which he was attested to be righteous, God testifying about his gifts, and through faith, though he is dead, he still speaksÓ (Hebrews 11:4). The same is true of every faithful witness whose life was offered for Christ. Even in death, their testimony continues to speak.
This book presents Charlie Kirk as such a witness Ñ not perfect, but steadfast in his commitment to stand for truth, life, and the Gospel in the public square. His words and actions remain a living testimony that Christ is Lord, and his example continues to challenge and inspire todayÕs generation, especially the youth of the Church.
This book is not written to endorse individuals or promote political campaigns. Its purpose is to encourage the youth in their own witness according to the Scriptures, reminding them that the call of Christ is to be a living witness of Him in every generation.
