You want exciting war stories, then CharltonÕs Attack series is a great comic series for you. Most
of the tales are set in World War II, but there are some Civil War and World War I sagas. There is
art by Sam Glanzman, Pat Masulli, Don Perlin and Sal Trapani and some of the writing is by the
prolific Joe Gill.
Of course, this wouldnÕt be a Charlton title without some sort of weird numbering. Attack starts in
1958 with issue #54 which was a massive 100 book. Issues #55-60 of Attack are all 36 pages each.
Issue #60, cover dared November 1959 is the final book of that run. The title, Attack was
resurrected in 1962, starting with issue #1 for three books and then canceled again. Attack clawed
back into publication in October of 1964, with another Issue #3, only to be canceled after issue #4.
The series Attack is then relaunched in September of 1971 with another first issue and lasted a full
48 issues.
This volume collects Issues #59 & 60 of the first series, #1-3 of the second series (1962) and #3-4 of
the third series (1964).
