Chatham County was formed in 1771, from the southern part of Orange County. Chatham County is still within the Granville District (35 deg north 34 min lat) and contains very old settlers and road routes. Miscellaneous land records are a Òcatch allÓ of land disputes, agreements, surveys, etc. In fact, it is also apparent that if a county has too small of an ejectment collection (to warrant a standalone box(s)) the records appear in this collection. This is true for Chatham County, as the ejectments are folders within this two-box collection. This book contains Box 1.
