This guide is an introduction to Version 5 of the Chebfun software, including basic use, differential equations, and two-dimensional functions. Some of the numerical foundations are also discussed. Prior MATLAB experience is helpful but not required. The guide is entirely written in executable code at www.chebfun.org.
