Cinematic Scenes for String Orchestra is a collection of three pieces written during the composerÕs brief dalliance with the film industry, and which were recorded with a Prague session orchestra in the late 2000Õs. The first piece, an example of FeazelleÕs approach to title music writing, illuminates his aspirations of applying the compositional techniques of Vaughan Williams onto cinematic scores. The listener can observe simple, folk-like melodies, sometimes utilized in multi-part cannonic counterpoint, reminiscent of the old English masterÕs style. The second piece, written as an example of menu music for a game featuring medieval warfare, again highlights early 20th century English classical idioms, but is further infused with hints of Gregorian chants. The third piece is a quick love scene that takes place aboard an English sailing vessel during the Tudor Era.
